I have read about this happening actually to a lot of E70 owners that have the tow hook, and something plugged into it. It makes NO sense, and sadly I do not have the answer why, but I am fairly certain that your BMW dealer can address this, since it is not unique to you. Doesn't it just boggle the mind, as to how the A/C can go bonkers by using a trailer?? I remember with my '06 Range Rover Sport SC, that when I would put the car in Reverse, the A/C would blow warm, and then back to cold when the car was in Drive. Even the dealership could not explain, nor address this one. But that car was literally posessed by Lucifer himself, it was his personal chariot.

Contacted the dealer and yes they do know about the problem, seems like its a software issue that needs to be updated. I wish they could have let me know there was a problem before travelling 750 km in the stinking 37 degree heat without an aircon......caught some nice fish though
