Active Steering w/diesel?

Does the X5 diesel come with active steering? When you go to the bmwusa website, then go to the X5 xDrive35d section, there is a video showing active steering. Also, there are a lot of other areas of the website that talk about active steering on all BMW's. But in the owners manual, there is an asterisk which would indicate that it is an option.

I would really like to know if it is on all the X5's (as the dealer told me also).

X5 Diesel 2009

Hi,
Just got my X5 Diesel 2009 and have all the options listed but the Active Steering is only available on the 4.8, non diesel. I purchased my vehicle from BMW Canada.

Thanks for the info. I suspect there is some kind of a fitment issue with the diesel. I see in my brochure that the Active Steering is only listed as an option on the gas engines. I thought I read somewhere about someone driving a diesel that had the A.S. Mine should be here later this week. At least that's what the dealer told me last Friday. I didn't order one, I just went though the computer with the dealer and found one with pretty much just what I wanted. It was at the factory ready to be shipped. Do the Canadian diesels have the exhaust re-charge system? ie Urea system.
Thanks

I am on my third X5 E70 diesel and all of them I have had the option of Active Steering. Would not buy a X5 without it, you should have the option available in Canada!

I've had active steering before on an E60. Although it makes parking easier, I found it took away lot of the feel at speed, so i didn't opt for it this time.

I've got it on my 3.0sd but I'm in australia - pretty sure it wouldn't be a fitment issue

Interesting. I wonder why it isn't being offered in North America on the X5 diesel.

It's not an option in the U.S. I tried to order it, but was told by the dealer it isn't available in the U.S. market. Not sure why people in Europe can order it, but we can't. They can also order the 20" wheel option as well. I wanted the 20" wheels also...

marketing.... I believe there's no adaptive drive either... I would totally buy 35d fully loaded over 4.8 its almost same performance. But BMW is controlling that through not allowing certain option into certain models.
