Oil change for 78 bucks, good deal?

I have been following the DIY threads on oil change and was planning on changing it myself, but will probably need ramps/jacks and the tool for removing the filter not to mention, oil pan, disposal etc. Hence I decided to call the local $tealer and another shop (BMW trained technicians), $198 at the $tealer and $78 at the shop. What do you folks suggest, 78 bucks worth compared to the time, effort, cost to buy tools for a DIY?

awesome price. i paid close to that for swapping summer tires on rims at my dealer. Go for it.

My dealer charged me $94 (includes tax, shop fees)

if they use genuine bmw oil filter, replace the o-rings and crush washer and use proper synthetic oil it's an awesome deal. go for it.

With all OEM stuff, that is a good deal.

were you to buy the supplies yourself (oil & filter) you would pay about $42 for the oil and $9 for the filter. so yeah that is really cheap.

i'd hang around and watch what they do myself.

my independant charges me $37 labor on the 4.8, but i am on his X-mas Card list thanks to the track car he built and maintains for me.

They going to use Castrol SYNTEC SAE 5W-30? That's what they should use (according to BMW specs).

You're not happy with BMW stealer just changing your oil once a year (under the maintenance plan)?
