Exclamation Phone Problem X5 E70

Hi,

I have new problem that just happened after my last service check. I have HTC mobile phone which was working perfectly with my car. The problem that happened after last check( they did some sort of upgrade), I cannot pick up income call from the phone. Once I answer any incoming call from the phone it will be transferred to the car in 2 seconds. Its annoying, I used to pick up calls from the car by clicking on the answer key on steering wheel, and if its private call I pick it up from the phone.

I took my car to the dealer, they couldnt fix it and they have told me this is the normal

anyone has any idea about this problem

I would delete the pairing and re-pair it to see if that has any effect. Bluetooth equivalent of Ctrl-Alt-Delete

The way it works with my Blackberry Pearl is that -- I allow auto pairing. So as soon as I start the car, the phone is paired with the car's BT. At which point all calls whether I initiated or someone called all go to to the car whether I am pressing the buttons on the steering wheel or touching the buttons on the phone keypad. The ONLY way I can take a call privately is to turn off Bluetooth function on my phone.

I definitely which I could take calls separately if I choose too -- espeically when someone else is riding in the car plus this is a work issued blackberry so a lot of work related issues.

I have it set up for auto pairing and turn off bluetooth on the phone if I need to take a private call. It disengages the phone from the car quickly.

Believe me I've tried that dozen of times. The thing I'm pretty sure that they did some sort of upgrade, I've told them just to reverse that. They dont know what exactly happened after the last service. Its really annoying that they dont believe me that I was able to pick up calls from phone b4.

The latest software with auto pair puts the sound on the car speakers regardless if you push the steering wheel button or the phone button. I use an iphone, and there is an easy option to "switch audio source" which lets you choose between BMW, Handset, and speakerphone. Its a lot easier than turning the bluetooth off.

What I hate about the bluetooth is that if your car is on and you are in the store or at the car wash lounge and are talking on the phone, and you come within the 30 feet of the car it automatically puts your call into your BMW through BT. First few times I thought it got disconnected but my car wash guy said "your car was talking and yelling".

And I hate this feature. I also hate how long it takes for the bluetooth to get activated when ignition is turned on. If you are talking on the phone, get in the car and start it, the bluetooth connects right away, but the mic/speakers dont get activated for 15-20 seconds, leaving the other party wondering....

Yeah, in both my '08 4.8i and the new Range Rover, incoming calls are automatically sent to the speakers in the car, right away. Like several have mentioned, you either have to turn off your Bluetooth setting (or if you are lucky to have an iPhone, you just switch audio sources from BMW/Land Rover to iPhone). It's easy, quick and smooth. I'm afraid, you are not going to be able to "undo" the upgrade, as it seems to be doing what it is supposed to do. Yeah, it is horrible when a call comes in, you have people in the car...and the call is private. Can you imagine how horrible, if you're in the car with your wife/husband...and your girlfriend/boyfriend calls. Akward!!!

Thats why caller ID and phone books were made. Girlfriend could be "Service Center".

+1

I also have an HTC. Anytime I want the call to be private (although the ear piece on the HTC is still loud enough for people to hear), I just go to the phone's "Menu" and "Turn Hands Free Off".
