Yes, fatter and nicer feel and material.

Ahh .. thats probably it then. Since my car is the diesel 35d, no active steering ... so didn't run into that issue.

Its not so much it has M-logos, but more I personally didn't like the silver trim included in the regular sport steering wheel ... so I changed it. Prefer all black.

Also M steering wheels are normally much nicer. The steering wheel in my old 2008 M3, was the best steering wheel I've ever used. Simply perfection ... although alot of people thought it was a bit fat !!

I have ordered the complete M Sport body kit and wanted to do the steering wheel etc. while I was at it. I thought about going with the real M Sport wheel as well, but instead I am installing the sport wheel with paddleshifts! Just wanted to get rid of that silver trim, but I guess it's staying. I'd rather have the heat & paddleshifts than a fat wheel with an M logo!

I also think the steering wheel in the current M3 is perfect; however, for this vehicle, I'd prefer to have a heated steering wheel and don't mind the silver trim.

I kinda like the silver trim, it definitely looks better than the non sport steering wheel and love the heating, though out here in sunny California you only need it for the occasional ski trip
