When I owned a e39, I found out the hardway that once you lock your car with your key, you can't physically unlock the car from inside. This prevents thieves from breaking your windows and try to open the door -- can't be done.

I just found out the same thing applies to the glove box in the e70. Use your key and lock the car. You can't open your glove box. (well, you can probably use a crowbar...)
