E70 wheel question
Hi, we're currently in the market for a slightly used e70 to replace my wife's '06 Nissan Xterra. I had an e39 that was totalled a few months ago but I still have the chrome 18x8.5 & 18x10 M-Parallel wheels that I used to use in the summer. She wants the 20" 214's on the X5. Can I use my old 18's for the winter? The e39 had a 74.1mm hub so I'll need hub rings and I'm not sure about the e70's offsets if there will be an issue clearing the brakes. Thx for your help. PS: She also looked at an LR3 but it was too heavy for it's engine.

I would be very careful about this as I do not think that those wheels are load rated for the X5. Just remember the weight of the car and the forces involved and you can quite easily see how cracks might appear. Also you would need to change the tires to a high profile to match the stock rolling diameter as your current set up would have the low profile tyres. I wouldn't risk it, my 2 cents.

Snow tires were definately going on them but I didn't think of the load rating of the wheel itself.

I would definately check with the dealer re the load rating of the wheel itself before mounting. Unfortunately I dont have any figures for you.
