E70 wheel question

Hi, we're currently in the market for a slightly used e70 to replace my wife's '06 Nissan Xterra. I had an e39 that was totalled a few months ago but I still have the chrome 18x8.5 & 18x10 M-Parallel wheels that I used to use in the summer. She wants the 20" 214's on the X5. Can I use my old 18's for the winter? The e39 had a 74.1mm hub so I'll need hub rings and I'm not sure about the e70's offsets if there will be an issue clearing the brakes. Thx for your help. PS: She also looked at an LR3 but it was too heavy for it's engine.
