Also found this on another forum...

Hi Mate, I've got a x5 E70 2009 WITH OUT Xenons, if you ask the dealer for an exploded view diagram of the headlamp it shows you the location of the angel eye bulb (the diagram shows both the xenon and the non-xenon on the same diagram). But it doesn't list what type of bulb it is, just a part number. You'll will see a black rectanglier plastic cap in between the main and the dipped beam cover (at the back of the lamp, under the bonnet) held on by 3 or 4small screws. The bulb looks like a 501 sat in a small reflector but not sure, I'll be removing mine when the weather improves. The main beam is a H1, the dipped beam is a H7 and the fogs H11.

Bozz has got the replacement H8 bulbs for the angles eyes but he does not have the Xenon main headlights. I think the H8 bulbs are located differently to the Xenon X5 vehicles.

It sounds like the inner lights (closest to the radiator) are his high beams (H1), in a Xenon equiped X5 that is where the H8 angle eye bulb goes. All my X5's have had Xenon's so I don't know where they are placing the H8 bulb for angle eye's in this type of light assembly and it hard to find diagrams on it.

Bozz, next time you go past your dealer call in, they fit them in 5mins.

Take your bulbs with you!

I am picking it up at 5:00pm and giving it back to them on Monday for a couple of days to do the brakes & ceramic pads, they are not sure whether they will get the towbar done tomorrow either so I said leave the towbar until Monday if they run short of time.

I need the X5 to get up the beach tomorrow night as I have trades people coming to the beach house to do some repairs at 7:00am the next morning. Its hard to get them to drive on the beach and if I put them off it will take months to organise them again, without the repairs I have no water as a pipe burst on the first floor.

Some people are not going to believe you that your actually going on to a beach in your band-new car within a few hours of picking it up from the dealer. Just think what the service guys are going to say on Monday morning when they find all the Sand and salt water packed under the new car that they are working on

Hahahahahaah I would love to see their faces.

The last two E70 X5's went up the beach every weekend to the beach house, no problems, except the last one went a little to close to the water and ended up in the ships grave yard. You only have problems when the water is higher than the door sills!
