Repairing windscreen/windshield with HUD

Hi there

Has anyone got their windscreen/windshield repaired due to a rock chip, and also has the HUD. I seem to be getting conflicting reports. Some say its not a problem and others say it maybe a problem.

I found this old post from 2007 ... that sounded like a disaster.
