A GT-R? I was looking at one but the flipping maintenance seems like it'll kill you. A tranny flush costs like $1500.... WTF and at 18K miles (earlier if you track it)?

Thanks Guys!

Love the x5 for sure =) These are OEM Ferric 215s, the exhaust is Eisenmann race. Its my kid hauler, along with my wife's Sienna.

And yes GT-R incoming. I test drove one and straight up fell in LOVE! =) Maintenance cost is on par for any car making 450+ hp/torque. Anyways, I love fast cars but drive like a grandma, LOL. So I don't plan on tracking or abusing the car.

Ivory White on Black incoming tomorrow, then the modding begins again =)

Actually it gets worse - there is so much talk about tranny reliability - try $20K for a new tranny. This is the only thing that put me off that car. it is an AWESOME car but for service, (which supposedly has to be done by dealer for warranty) is a pain in the rear. Forget the fluids, someone mentioned to me a brake job is like $4K, so you can understand why there are so many popping up on ebay when initially this car was demanding a premium over MSRP.

I have been a Porsche fan all my life. I have alwasy felt that on so many planes that it truly is the best sports carout there, no matter how you slice it, maybe second only to the Corvette when price (bang for the buck) comes into the equation.
I currently have a 2006 C2S Cab, and it is perfect. I love it. I am serious lust mode over the GT-R, though, and truly the GT-R is the superior PERFORMANCE vehicle between the two. I went to the dealer to take a look-see, and when I brought up maintenance, as I usually like to do my own, he was not as chipper as he once was. It is pretty much dealer mandated service, and he explained my first oil change could be $600 - $800 and more depending on tranny, filters, etc. Wait a minute, I thought... I have a premium GERMAN sports car. The only thing more expensive than that is a premium ITALIAN sports car, right. Guess again. The GT-R is higher maintenance than Britney, Gisele, Lindsay and Paris when they are having their cycles together.
Screw that. I can change my own oil, and Porsche is great about gradual improvement and similar systems. If I have to spend that much on a car's maintenance, it better be red, European and be aural Viagra.
