I just filled out an order request through the USAA car buying service and now my gmail is flooded with auto responders from the local dealers. I'll report back and let you all know how it goes with getting this deal on a 2010.

That's very good.. we were at the negotiation table for an EX-L, one step below the touring, and it was $34k which is still slightly above invoice, and before taxes! After clunkers, I would've still had to pay ~$32k for the EX-L. What is this deal on the '10 touring you speak of? Our guy didn't mention this at all (last week). Sorry for dragging this a bit OT.

I spoke to BMW Customer Service (800-831-1117) the eco-credit is only on the 09 model year...
I could not get the $4500 on a 2010 if I placed my order before August 31st.
I would have ordered this week, but now I'll probably wait until March and get the facelift.....

Not so according to my visit today with the sales manager at a dealer. They are taking orders for October delivery, at this time they must use '09 pricing and according to him accurate pricing for 2010's will be available to the dealers on the 21st of this month. He said he took an order yesterday for a 2010 and applied the $4500 creit.

That said, I haven't seen (at least at this dealer) any enthusiasm for aggressive pricing. I was quoted the supposed invoice pricing one can view on Edmunds.com with no further discount beyond the $4500. Furthermore, I was thrown a somewhat (in my opinion) low ball trade in number f $29,000 on my albeit high mileage (43,000) '08 fairly loaded X5 3.0. And this was on an absolutely loaded unit with a sticker of $73,520.

I'm not seeing (at least in New England) any of the lower than invoice pricing others have mentioned.

Oh, I was shown paperwork from BMW that confirms 2010's are included.

My buddy had started talking about deal on 2009 but dealer was sold out 2009 so he gave him the same deal on 2010.

Thank You, I spoke to my sales advisor today, and although he was unaware at first, he did look up the memo that as of August 12th the 2010's are included until the 31st.
I have a meeting with him Saturday morning

SA said 2010 ordering guides are out as well (also confirmed eco credit valid on 2010's like the rest noted). Now we just need them leaked!
