I worked on one that was a corporate vehicle that had already topped 80k... that's about the highest I've seen yet on en E70.

What maintenance items seem to need attention first? Do you think that E70's might require less maintenance than E53's as they rack up higher mileage considering E70's are practically 3rd gen?

I don't think they had any heavy work done at all, just regular maintenance and some interior trim panels that were scratched up. Keep in mind that was mainly highway mileage so has less wear and tear than if that were city mileage. The E70 is a good platform... just not as easy to work on as the E53 for some things just by advancement of design.

Thanks... just planning ahead, was thinking about dumping my lease and getting a beater but after looking at the deal I pulled off last fall with a low buyout after 36 months and the E70's being pretty reliable as they rack up the mileage, I'll probably just keep it, buy it at the end of the lease and buy an extended warranty/maintenance plan. At least that's what I'm thinking of doing....

Well....I've had my share of squeaks and rattles (and subsequent replacement parts,) dashboard peeling (fixed last week,) tranny surges (fixed last week,)....small things really....

Nothing major, and that's after being T-boned in August 07 (weeks after getting the car) and having the entire right side from the rear door forward replaced. (25K worth of damage.)

Still drives, and looks like new.
