Tray inside the middle glovebox ?

Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm waiting for the delivery of used 2008 X5 tomorrow. Can't wait.

My question is, during the inspection before I bought the vehicle, I didn't see any tray inside the middle glovebox (between front seats). Is it something that I miss that I should ask the dealer or it's normal.

Thank you in advanced.

pic? I know there is an adapter type thing for a phone charger (?) in there as an option... an option I didn't opt for. I have a smartphone but not an ipod/iphone. Mine is '08.

sure i will post a pic later. it's just a black plastic tray with grooves to put your coins in, as well as a flat area for other things. perhaps you have it too? i dont see why bmw will leave it out.

I saw that tray from BMW Website Instruction Manual Videos. That's why I'm wondering if the vehicle I'm buying comes with the tray or not. Maybe special options are needed for the tray ?

It's not a big deal for me, but just thought I asked.

Thanks again for all the replies.

Every X5 we tested had a molded tray in the very bottom of the center console compartment. The angle of the owner's manual video I saw on BMWNA makes it look like there may be a tray higher up (like the one for the smart phone integration kit). But the guy in the video reaches in to pull out the 12v plug and obviously the tray is below his hand.

he was right, there is a rubber-like tray at the very bottom... I didn't even know it... I thought it was part of the console.
