Is X6 214 rims size different than X5 214 rims?

Are they different in size even same exact style 214? My question are they going to fit 08 X5 if I am going to buy a set off from X6? Anyone tried that before without any problem? Or has to modified before I can even install it ?
And also, i checked the part number and they seem are different than X5's 214 rims.

X6 Part no. 6 782 916 REAR 6 772 249 FRONT

Thanks.

Hub bore measurement for X6 and X5 are identical, no rings needed. They are interchangeable and you should have no issues.

Not true. The X5 and X6 have different hub bore measurements...the rear in particular. They even have a different bolt thread, which is not a big deal since you can simply buy new lug bolts...

X5 E70 = PCD 5x120,
centre bore 74.0mm
M14x1.25 bolt thread.

X6 E71 = PCD 5x120,
centre bore FRONT 74.0mm,
centre bore REAR 72.5mm
M14x1.5 bolt thread

So if you're going from X6 wheels to an X5, then you will have to get the rear wheels bored out larger to 74.0mm.

I guess it doesn't matter if you're buying replicas like Tamba...

I am getting OEM take off from X6. You mean I got to have machine shop to bore out diamater from 72.5mm to 74mm for the rear X6 214 rims?
And also buy some lug bolts? Only two items I have to do in order to make it fit? Anything else need to do on X5 itself?

But I was wondering why need new lug bolts? Isn't the bolt thread attached on X5 rims?

Thanks.

Yes, bore out the rear wheels and buy new lug nuts and you're good to go! The wheels are not threaded...the wheels just have holes. The hub on your vehicle is what's threaded! So if you're using your existing lug nuts from the X5, you're okay. Just don't try to use the X6 lug nuts or you will mess up the threads on your ride!

Any idea how much it costs and is it safe to do that? I mean bore out to bigger hole mean may get closer to the wheel holes. Anyone done that without problem?

Thanks!

Is it really that good of a deal that you are willing to go through all of this? Why not get the correct style 214's for the E70? Ill only go through this ordeal if the X6 wheels were given to me for free, so if anything goes wrong i'll still keep the tires and get the correct wheels. Not worth the risk IMO.

Well, may be not. But it is good to know ahead if there is one set X6 used available in the near future..
