I have the same issue on the upper inner edge of my driver's side headlamp assembly - 2004 4.4 X5. It was just in the body shop for unrelated front end damage and they would not repair/replace the headlamp assembly under CPO - it was undamaged in the wreck. My SA said it was normal aging and quoted me a price of $1100.00 +/- for a new one. I'll just wait to hit another deer and aim left this time.

Thanks... I'd be interested to see any E70 owners with the issue as well... it could actually be the outside polycarbonate cover.. I'm going to try annd polish a small part to see if that fixes it...

I wouldn't expect a headlight to haze over so quickly, but I suppose it might depend upon where you drive and what pollutants and road grime your particular vehicle sees.

I just noticed this on the 07 CPO X5 that I purchased last month. I intend to try to get it replaced by the dealer. If they refuse, I have no problem filing suit (as a lawyer) against BMW for the repairs under warranty. If anyone else has this problem and either got it fixed or the dealer refused, I'd love to know as it may help all of our causes on this issue.

2008 x5, I had the haze too. In 2010 I was able to polish it out. And put those lens protectors on it. So far the Haze hasn't come back and if my 1998 z3 with similar protectors is any indicator, it will stay clear.

What lens protectors are you talking about? My 2003 X5 has serious headlight haze, and i want to prevent this on a new X5. Thanks |
