I'm looking for a dark roof, and I'm aware about the anthracite headliner in the sport package. But I heard that if you get saddle leather, then the roof liner is also dark (whether or not you get the sport package). But I don't think that's true.

congrats...
I agreed to pay $2,345 over invoice, which is more than I would like, but but locked in the benefit of the additional $4,500 Eco Credit. Plus, no upcharges or overhead fees like dealer and marketing fees that one dealer charges (just $825 destination and handling).

BUT, I am now being told that qualification for the $4,500 Eco Credit is based on whether the dealer has enough left in their October X5 3.5d allotment to fulfill the order before August 31, 2009, and my dealer supposedly just found out he does not have enough allocation. The sales manager is trying to confirm more 3.5ds in his allotment so my order qualifies for the Eco Credit. I am obviously not happy and am in the process of complaining to BMW NA and taking otehr steps -- but I believe BMW shoudk honor their offer: if a dealer submits a customer order before August 31, 2009, he or she should qualify for the $4,500 credit, period.

Anyway, if you want to be sure qualify for the diesel credit, check around and make sure the dealer you are talking to will honor the $4,500 Eco Credit before hassle with further negotiations.
