Not to a guy that wants long-term business and has a long-term outlook. My sales guy has been with the same dealership for at least a decade and I'd estimate that half of his customers nowadays are repeat sales. I admit, there aren't a lot of salespeople out the that play it straight, so when I find one I'm willing to give him a $500 premium over switching to an unknown guy who has no record with me.
Two dealers who I have done past business with wouldn't accept my deposit on an X5M. Neither of those dealers would match the price I got from a dealer I've never done business with.

I try to be loyal but alas, just cause I want to give dealers my business doesn't mean they want to sell me a car... At least not at the price I demand they give me.

I agree with you. But if I think the dealership is good, I'll spot them $500. or thereabouts, vs. a poorer dealership, e.g., I told them on my Z4 that the CD player was randomly making weird sounds after opening the vehicle, but before starting it, and sometimes after shutting the car down. They went ahead and replaced it, while a few others with similar problems posted that their dealers would not replace it unless they could duplicate the problem in the shop.

I've heard this before, but wondered about others' experience.

I ended up somewhere else with a deal about $1,200 over invoice plus the $4,500 eco discount.
My wife and I got $650 over invoice plus the $4500 Eco credit ... The dealer came out with the offer right of the bat. I was shocked ... no battle. I battled for two days to get my M3 to $1250 over invoice.

For hers the MSRP for the diesel was around $72K+ and we are walking out the door at $65.5K including fees, tag and title.

OBTW the dealer never asked how we planned to pay for the car ... they did ask for a credit app though. We will be financing about $12K.

Kenny - curious which dealer in NY is doing $500 over invoice if you don't mind sharing? I'm looking to price out a 35d. Also, what model did you get? Thanks
