It depends on the fault codes... I Got the battery replaced, steering wheel trim replaced and some upper trim pieces that had some corrosion.. suggest fighting this one.. who is the dealer ?

the issue has reoccured now. So I will have to bring it back. Can you PM me who you were dealing with. that way they would be familiar with the issue and subsequent outcome.
thanks |

The dealer contacted BMW Australia and they authorised it... My Invoice states Includes FRU Codes 6100811, 6100991 & 6131996.. not sure if one of those relates to the battery....?

all fixed now. battery and software updated. looks like the first time the dealer sees the issue they want to rule out neglect before acknowledging the fault. When it occured the second time, they had it repaired aver 2 days.

I went for a long drive down south coast.. on the way back I had 3 clock resets... the drive was 2.5 hours highway... this is with the new battery.. it definitely is the alternator... as others have said.. there is no possible way for BMW to explain how a battery gets discharged when I stop for a piss....
