Considering the cost of a new engine vs. the cost of an oil change, I'd change it every 12 months. Infrequent and/or short trips is harder on oil than regular usage for longer trips, as trace moisture in the oil is more likely with infrequent usage. BMW isn't really generous with their free maintenance, so the fact that they are wiling to change it every 12 months says something...

P.S. FWIW, On the Ford Taurus, they specify an oil change every 6 months, regardless of mileage.

Tried that for about 20 minutes. Its impossible to see where anything goes after the first foot or so of tubing. You'll see when you get yours!

With my low-mileage vehicles I change it at 18 months. I wouldn't worry about 24 months, but I wouldn't go past that myself.

I get my oil change done every 6 or so months... no free maintenence plan in Australia so we pay every time...I got mine changed at the first 1000k's as well.

Thanks. I had down loaded them but not viewed them yet.

BTW The filler tube on the driver's side does look like it goes where the 3D model indicates.
