Even when you park in a completely empty lot, that one person will always decided to park right next to you... making you cringe! WHY WHY WHY!!!!!

I totally agree, no matter how far out you park, people are attracted to the spot next to you. It's the sheep mentality.

Or logic.

Think about it.

If you park out in the open, you have no idea who might park next to you. But if you park next to an immaculate car parked far away, you are almost certain that the car parked next to you is someone who cares about cars and will be very careful to not ding your car (and vice versa).

Thats so funny, I parked in a spot far away today, I parked my car (CLK 500) in reverse and when I came back there was a Porsche parked right next to me, also parked in reverse...go figure!

The running boards stick out 1.5" further than the standard trim pieces.

Realizing I like the optional running board look eventhough they would not be functional for me at 6'4" and if I decide later to put it on it will be a grand more at that time with install.

Anyother pro's or con's you can add beyond if the optional running boards jut further out from the side of the car and cause worse leg bumping?
