e70 alarm

The siren warning on the factory alarm on the e70 is not that loud. Is there a way to turn up the gain or has anyone fitted another loader siren/horn?

I too would love to know how to adjust the siren volume. It'll be going off on the street and no one even knows it's on. My friend was sitting in the car once, waiting for me to get back, and he tripped the alarm, and didn't even realize that the alarm was on!

My wife's 328xi alarm is MUCH louder than mine.

e70 Alarm

Had a similar problem. I had noticed that the alarm was not as loud as it used to be, especially when it rained. Turns out the drain hole close to the alarm was plugged with leaves and water soaked the alarm. This apparently damaged the alarm so that it needed to be replaced. BMW wants to charge me $400 to do this since "water stoppage" is apparently my problem. I guess I'll have to go chasing leaves under the hood in the future. Pretty sad for such an expensive car.

Where is the alarm located, so I can check for a drain stoppage periodically?

Up near the firewall drivers side. You may have to remove the cowling on top.
