2009 Throttle Issue

Do the 2009's have the same throttle issue as my 2008? The hesitation, the lag etc. Does the reprogramming help? Thanks.....

My 335i hesitates from a stop. I have read all over the net about different reasons, including the turbo's, but I am convinced it is the transmission. Perhaps starting out in 2nd gear. It is eliminated if the transmission is in sport mode...

Healy comments on the X5d lag in his USAToday review and rather appropriately states 'you can start quickly or start smoothly but not both' which sums it up well.

Two comments:

(1) For some reason, BMW auto transmissions have a teribly sloppy torque converter type lag... my Ford Focus transmission is loads better than any recent BMW I've driven.

(2) If you look at the diesel engine torque curve, it is great and flat from about 1800 -3000 RPM, but compared to the gasoline engines, the diesel torque is actually significantly worse starting-out from 1,000 RPM, although it does quickly ramp-up to exceed the gasoline engines.
