smashed window outside restaurant in ny - how much for a new window

hi all, last night i'd the unfortunate experience of seeing a smashed window in my own car after we returned from dinner in manhattan, it was parked near 3rd ave & 29th st which is a pretty busy intersection. the only thing missing was the gps on the dashboard, everything else in the car (my phone -htc touch pro and wife's iphone, portable hard drive etc) was untouched - very very strange, must be someone desperate to get home and took the gps also, my phone was on the seat, the person who did this put the phone in the center console

anyways, we cleaned up the glass from the seat and floor, took almost 1/2 hr to wipe the fine dust off and remove all the hundreds of glass pieces... and drove home. didnt call the cops or anything since my insurance is $500 deductible. does anyone know how much the dealer will charge to replace the glass? i don't know if i can replace it myself although i could try, i'd replaced car speakers in a 740il before, so removing the door panel is not new to me.

***************edit: oops. made a mistake, this should have been posted in the e53 forum, not e70. can the mods please move it*****************

edit 2: sorry to bother you guys but i luckily remembered realoem.com (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...51&fg=05&hl=10)

I hope you dont have your own home address logged in to that GPS because they will probably be paying your home a visit next time that you are out of the house. They were probably disturbed whist they were robbing your car and didn't get the chance to grab the other stuff. Hope you have good security at home?

Why leave all of that stuff visible in a parked car?

hmm, i live almost 50 miles away in nj, would they bother coming all the way and there are too many addresses stored in recent destinations - no favorites at all, especially labeled home
