Q: Diesel ECO Credit Status

Hi Everyone, I am new to this Forum but have already gotten a lot of good info about the X5s on this forum. Thanks!

I am considering a 2010 Diesel (purchase.) One dealer tells me the eco credit has expired. Another says it has not. The BMW website says it's valid until 11/2.

BMW North America
Would appreciate any help on this.

JMK BMW in Springfield NJ tells me its good as long as the car is ordered by Dec 31st.. the credit would be "locked in"

if you are around NJ, you can also try Paul Miller BMW, look for Justin Lee, easy to deal with, you will be on your way in 1 hour, with $4500 eco credit, plus all weather floor mats, plus a BMW umbrella for your wife... hahaha... well, my wife was able to extort one, lol....

Thanks Genemish and JayjayO4X5. That's great to know. There's a lot of misinformation out there.

I am in California (San Francisco bay area.) The dealers here are very tough to work with. One claims he has been building X5 Diesels at MSRP and wasn't even interested to quote anything below. Hard to fathom with the current economy!

Don't believe those dealers. I'm in northern CA, and I got $1,000 over invoice then the eco credit for a '10. Should be coming in any day now!

I was having the same issues in the bay area, ended up going with Coast BMW in SLO. Got $2700 below MSRP. Should be taking delivery next weekend. Closest to price in bay area was Stevens Creek BMW.

Good Luck!

Thanks Noonsey. SLO is too far for me. I don't mind paying a bit more for a closer dealership (SF Peninsula/San Jose) but the dealers here are just way too greedy - on a model that's supposed to get a face lift next year! I will keep looking. Regards, Moe

I ordered a '10 3.5d a couple weeks ago that won't be delivered until Dec and the dealer is honoring the $4,500 Eco Credit.
