I installed them on a Sapphire Black 2009 x35d. I did not remove the tires, so installing the rear guards required a small 1/4" ratchet with Philips head to drive in several of the screws. You can crank the front tires to the stops and that clears the working space.
The dealer first ordered the wrong front guards. Take them out in the parking lot to test the fit before paying.
Be careful pushing in the plastic plunger of the body panel fasteners. I broke one by pushing too fast and had to use a screw instead.
I had a problem with the adhesive strips. I washed the areas on the wheel wells with Dawn, rinsed and then wiped down with 91% Isopropyl. I also wetted the adhesive strips with Isopropyl, following the recommendation of the parts manager.
Anyhow, the adhesive strips really did not seal tightly. The guards are tight and look good, but if you inspect closely you can see the small gap.
Right now my car is covered with salt and crap from the recent storm here in Boston but the guards really do work by stopping the heavy stuff.
