so it is user updatable, but they may not give you the disc for the version that comes pre-installed...

Based on the information in the manual, I would
be asking the dealer for the disc when taking delivery.
Reason? How could one update the Navi without it?

the updated Nav Disc are for sale at $199 at the bmw site.
