X5dieselfan is on a distinguished road
2010 Navigation loaded on HD - do they give you a disc?
Picked up my car on Tuesday. When I got home, was checking that everything was there and noticed that there was no nav disc included. I know it is loaded on the hard drive, but assumed they would include the disc as with prior years. Anyone have any ideas?

Not if, but WHEN the HD crashes while your at the beach on vacation and wish you had the NAV DVD to pop in as a back up to get you safely home!

in that situation, i think you'd need the whole HD restored from backup..

i see your point, but really, how far are you planning to be away from civilization?

Right. am not seeking to use the disc, but to have it available (saving me a trip to the dealer) if the HD ever becomes corrupted. Of course if that happens, I'll probably have other problems beyond nav not working. Sounds like they want you to come into the shop for this...if anyone picked up a 2010 and found the disc included, please let me know.

right, well, i doubt the HD can be "flushed' through your CD/DVD player in the dash.. that makes the system too vulnerable for attacks.

Why don't you read the manual and see what it says about updating the nav and if it is even user upgradeable?
