Should I wait to buy a 2011?

I'm enjoying all the comments and pictures of people picking up their 2010's.

This week I saw BMW offering a $2500 discount and 4.9% incentive on the 4.8.

Do you think I should wait for the 2011 (in May?)

Can anyone confirm the 2011 will bring the TT engine, larger iDrive screen and new rear lights/front bumper?

I looked into this but couldn't get reliable information. major facelift may actually arrive with the 2012s. Looks like '11s may get the front bumper that comes with X5 M's in '10. Anyone has reliable information? BTW, unless they are making the nav touch sensititve, I don't think a bigger screen is reason enough to wait. I'm curious about the facelift.

Thought about it too.

Don't want a first year new anything, particularly an engine. Little or no $ eco deals for 2011 and mostly tired of putting things off in life!

.... we can go on and on with this, 2012 will prob be better than the 2011's. Just think of it as purchasing a very expensive computer.... its bound to get outdated somewhat.

You're kidding right ??!!!

Confirm - No.

Speculate - Sure, we can all speculate. Look for the mid-life x5 updates then which so far looks like a modified bumper/lights. Other than that ... who knows ??

A car is for the moment. Enjoy it whilst you can. If you wait until 2011, chances are more will be around the corner for 2012, 2013 ... the next X5, etc, etc.

I've missed out on the new i-Drive twice now.

I purchased a 2008 M3. In 2009 the new idrive was released on the M3.

I purchased a 2009 X5, In 2010 the new idrive was released in the X5 !

Regrets? Nah ....

With all the missing, do you think you should be giving buying advice? Seriously, I agree. If the car has the features you want now, then I see no reason to wait. like the 35d for is low end power and great fuel economy. Diesel fuel cost is a wild car in the scheme of things. It may end up costing more than premium in the next year or so. That means a tt might be a better bet. Who knows.

I wouldn't wait for a mid cycle facelift that just included bumpers. If the interior is upgraded (E60 LCI) then that might be something to wait for. Otherwise, I'd just buy now.

Has it been absolutely confirmed, 100% that the 2011 X5 is scheduled for early release in 2010? I've been seeing it posted here multiple times but without any sources.

I spoked to the dealership and my car salesman said that the 5-series is scheduled for early release. But, he wasn't aware of anything with the X5. I take it with a grain of salt because it's a car salesman though. But, I would love to see actual confirmation.

No, not even BMW NA themselves can confirm this 100%, as even if they plan to do it, they could change their mind.

The 2010 already has the new iDrive with HD screen from my understanding. And the TT engine is not "new" and won't be open to 1st year bugs--it's been in the X6 for a bit now. From all the sources it seems everything is pointing to this Spring for the facelift and TT engine. But like Penguin said BMW is not going to tell you to let the cat out of the bag nor might not even know--they don't want to hurt current sales. Chances are with the economy still on the rebound there will be some kind of incentive this Spring anyways by BMWNA to help sales.

You and me both! But I'd rather have the new iDrive. Although it was kind of cool to be one of the first U.S. owners of the E92 M3 and E70 X5 M Sport.
