Advice sought on X5 purchase in Canada

I'm looking to buy or lease an X5 35d in Canada in the next couple of months - any advice on what sort of deal I should be looking to get compared with the wholesale price and the MSRP? On the BMW.ca website the price seems to start at $62800 but as soon as you go to choose a colour $4900 of extras (ie Premium package) are added. Is there no way NOT to have the premium package?

Will be getting Nav, sports and executive packages plus running boards and that all adds up to $75500 with the 'compulsory' premium package.

Freight, adin, PDI, tire stewardship and air con tax, OMVIC transactio and PPSA on delivery add up to $2667 quoted by dealer, then other stuff to add on takes the cash due on delivery to $5861. Residual after 3 years 53%,

Thanks for any advice forum can offer.

The Premium PKG is auto select when you pick a metallic colour which is a bug in the app, I think. (AND yes, I can spell it that way with a fellow Canadian ) However more importantly, the Premium PKG is a prerequisite for the Tech PKG.

As for the type of deal...depends on what province you are in. Should be able to get ~5-7 points off of MSRP.

Thanks guys - I'm moving over to Ontario from the UK. Some of the terminology the dealers use if different to the UK: Does "5-7 points off the MSRP" mean 5-7 per cent?

Dealers in Canada will say "percent" as well....I probably used "points" in my posting cause I got off the phone with a Sales Engineer

Thanks for the clarification Edge - just wanted to be sure. I've been offered just over 3% so the advice could be very useful.
