2010 X5 3.0 ordered & looking for titanium kidney grill now

Hi all,

Thanks to this board, I got a great deal on a new 2010 x5 3.0 (3K below invoice cost which includes the 2500 credit!! ). As I'm waiting for the new truck to arrive, I'm looking for a pair of titanium kidney grill (the ones on 4.8) to replace the black grill that comes with 3.0. The quotes that I received so far are all around 250 for a pair but I've read on this board, some people actually got them for around 128. Can someone please let me know where can I find such great deal or something that's less than 250? Thanks in the advance.

Derek

or if you like to spend some time,

Paint them yourself.

I sprayed mine with krypton spray paint.

Took them off , cleaned them and applied 2 coats of grey primer.

this was followed by two coats of titanium spray paint

and rounded off with clear coat.

Came out perfect.

Thanks for the info but I will stick with the 4.8 replacement part. Not that handy when comes to spray paint.

I agree....

I don't know why, but I just dont have "it" when it comes to spray painting.

Some people make it look so easy. I ruin everything I try to spray paint.

I'm trying to decide if I should go with the all black "European" look grill on my 4.8. If so, I'll sell you my Titanium grill.

I've only seen a few pictures with the all black grill. Does anyone have pics to post? Thanks.

Ahhh.....great idea (to look on eBay)

Thanks - still no really good picture of them on the X5, only a few very low res shots. But it gives me an idea of how it looks. Thanks.

Is there a member on here who has the all black grill on their X5?

My other thought was to paint them the same color as my X5 (carbon black metallic). Any thoughts/opinions?

I checked Ebay, most of the X5 grill on ebay is not titanium and not made by BMW.

One of your post says your dealer quoted $128 plus tax for the set. Can you let me know the dealer name? Thanks.
