Gas shock supporting the trunk floor missing on 2010 X5 35D
My new X5 is missing the shock that supposed to hold the trunk floor open while I take the spare out. This seems to be more than one off issue. Funf posted on the same issue before, and there were others as well. I want to find out if the shock went the way of the toolkit and a flashlight, or is it a manufacturing issue? Does yours have it? Can you post the year and model of your car as well.
Thanks |

Cost reduction -- they no longer install it.

It went away. But bitch about it and you will get one. Doesn't make sense if you have to change a tire with no way to hold up the panel. That was my reason.

someone else mentined it... there's a part number for it... you can order it as a replacement item... I believe it was something like $20 bucks..
do a quick search here... it was mentioned a few weeks ago.. if I find it i'll send you the link..
