i'v ealso noticed that diesel fuel prices varies DRAMATICALLY... with gasoline its pretty much a given that its more expensive in the city than in the burbs... thats not the case... I found one station selling for .20 cheaper than the burbs whereas a mile away another station wanted .50 more per gallon than the cheapest station...

I'm installing mud flaps on the X5 today, so right now I'm a bit dirty to climb in and remember how to do it exactly. I recall that in the fuel POI I found a box to check for diesel.... maybe it was using the option key. Once I finish and get cleaned-up, I'll check. And it shouldn't be too long, as I just found out the the hardware packet is missing from the rear mud flaps I mail ordered... looks like my "put the flaps on quick while there's a warm and dry day" strategy has just failed and the rears will have to wait. |

as Penguin said, you can limit the search results to Diesel stations, there is a sub category for Fuel Type... but you have to always check that option everytime you search for gas/diesel stations...
what i did is, i saved that search filters to button # 5... new iDrive just rocks....

The MyInfo/Google maps feature was added to 2009 MY and is available in the older version of iDrive. Works exactly the same way. Very useful.

We picked ours up in SC on Nov 20th and spent 10 days driving around. Charleston first, then Asheville, NC to do the Biltmore. We emailed the X5 with the places we were going the last day. Very handy.
We also used the nav system letting you search for closest stations with diesel and even set up a one touch button to you don't have to navigate through all the menus. Again very handy. Nice features once you figure out how to use them! |

The google map location is a great feature. It does come included for 4 years. The concierge service is not included in the BMW assist. It is an extra annual fee. I have had it for the last year and I have definetly recieved my moneys worth and more. My wife hated trying to find places using the the NAv information screen.
With a simple activation of the Concierge tab, you are speaking to a live person that will give you any information that you want....weather, road conditions, closet gas station and prices, even check to see if your flight is on time at the airport. They then send the information to your navigation through MYINFO....your in business.
