Residual/Rest Heat
Basically, when you shut the X5 off, but expect to be back soon, hit the big fan button. It will draw heat off the engine for approx 15 minutes. Perfect for a quick run into the store and have the interior still warm. What won't they think of? Tim |

Yep...its in the manual. Had that function various Mercedes I've owned for the past 12 years. It does make a difference when the temps are in the 30's you'll definately appreciate it. Curious that MB has been removing that function in most of their models over the last year or so. Open the door and the car is toasty warm. Asked the dealer when I purchased my X5 and he basically said it wasn't in my model ...but it was.
Almost but not as bad as my Mercedes saleman who had been in the business for 30 years was going over a CLK430 that I bought in 2001 - opened the engine compartment and was pointing out a few things and motioned to a black box near the engine and said that was my battery. I almost bit my lip but at the time MB dealers were basically raping their clients with full price sales - so I asked him how many years was he selling Benz's - then proceeded to show him the battery in the trunk which has been in the trunk since at least 1980. |
