Taking Delivery.

First post but have been checking the boards for a few months. Great site to say the least! Thanks to all who have added thier insight. All the knowledge on the boards is great!!

Will be picking up my '10 X35d in the next week or so...The wait has been brutal

For those who have taken delivery, any advice or things you would have done differently upon pick up if you had to do it over again??

Thanks in advance!!

When did your 35d complete production? Mine completed 12/4 and I'm also in the west coast, but my CA said it'll be around before I get it.

Look it over close. I took delivery of mine knowing it had 3 damaged wheels from transport. The salesman told me not to worry and BMW would take care of it. Well, BMW only wanted to repair/re finish the wheels. I raised hell at the dealership and they finally swapped out my wheels from another X5. My original X5 had Michelin tires. I got stuck with Bridgestone's on the new set of wheels. I learned a lesson here, walk away if it's not right.

Definitely bring another set of eyes. Yours will be distracted no doubt with the deal and vehicle operations overview.

Do not let the CA let your new truck idle for an hour or two while going over the iDrive and setting up your cellphone.

Bring your iPod to hook up if you got that option or a CD burnt special for your ride home.

Get your window sticker.

Plan ahead which email your going to register with the BMW assist feature. I wonder if there is any advantage to a gmail address due to the google maps feature?

Camera.

Enjoy!

Nope. Just pick one you plan to keep a long time so you don't have to change it. The Google map feature will remember your e-mail after the first time you use it,

Took Delivery on Tuesday 12/15. Thanks for the tips.

I will add. If you dont have a full tank of diesel, ask for one!! Mine came with half a tank!

Only have had it a couple days and LOVE X5d! Well worth the wait for everyone who has one on order...It will be here before you know it!
