I checked the NavTeq website and there are no updates available for 2009 or 2010 X5's.
When I entered my home street address, it was correct on that website. So much for my four week old truck nav being up to date... This is my 10th NAV (guess) and it is the best in all other respects except accuracy. |

Correct, no more NavTeq for the new iDrive nav system. It's now that other company.

I have three vehicles each with Nav from three different manufacturers. The 2010 X5d nav is the easiest to enter and easiest to use of the three (others are Acura and Toyota). I also have two moveable/portable Garmin devices. However, the accuracy of the maps and directions in the 2010 x5d is the worst of the five units, by a long shot. It regularly tells me to turn right when it should say left (big problem). The most common one is for a slight curve in a road to call for "a right turn followed by a sharp left turn". Frustrating. I fear some idiot will drive off of a blind cliff following the wrong directions on this thing. Somehow we need to send BMW and TeleAtlas a strong message.

I have voice turned off. And yes, I can understand why someone wouldn't want voice turned off, but that's how I like it.

I find that my $250 Garmin is much better:
1) It speaks road names 2) It gives better routing It seems crazy that a $1,900 system in a $50,000 plus car does not perform as well.
