Anyone found LED that works for map lights and visors?

Shinchan's post pretty much outlines the "best" LED interior bulbs and Jamesboag's response to my earlier post details how to remove the rear lights from the ceiling (VERY carefully!).

The owner's manual and other posts also detail how to remove the front console to access those lights.

So, I know there's a lot of us who have now upgraded "all" lights including the glove compartment.

BUT, no post yet on a working map light LED replacement solution or a visor light LED replacement.

I've tried 4 different lights but they all flash so I, for one, am less than worthy . . .

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

I've replaced the visor lights with a led.. will get the exact model .. it was from V-Leds. They flash occassionally.. the light output is also not particularly bright nor flattering so the stock yellow bulbs are better suited. For the map lights I've found nothing, also nothing for the centre light in the overhead front switch cluster, I'm running a Xenon type blue bulb in there at the moment........ I also found the overhead door operated lights at the rear flashed but found a light that works again from V-leds which is a 2 LED Flank Bulb.

Is the flickering to do with the low wattage that is drawn by the LED ?

If it is, was wondering if resistor might cure the problem. I have ordered high output LED's from V-leds and will give feedback in due course.

We have done several X5 and X6's with leds and replaced them all, the only one that we had to run a tiny ballast was on the license plate bulbs, but cars pretty much use N194 bulbs with the exception of the license plate which is T20 or better known as peaunt type.

thanks crazy4cars, the type of wattage drawn by the LEDS seems to solve the flickering problem of the rear passenger lights and the centre console light.

I experimented last night and it seems that LEDS with a wattage of 2 and higher solves the flickering problem.

Did an old trick with the plate lights. Replaced both with LEDS and connected a normal bulb to one of the bulb holders. This seemed to solve the "lights out" problem and act as an resistor. Tucked it away as there is plent of space inside the rear hatch. looking good

I used the expensive Led plug and play array on my rear license plate.. they are nice and bright and light up nicely for the rear camera at night...
