I just ordered a new E70 last week and before I did I test drove cars with and without AD and with and with out sports suspension.

For me sports suspension reduced ride quality significantly without improving overall handling that much. However I found AD exactly the opposite, a very significant improvement in handling with very little negative effect on ride. Another benefit of AD is you can adjust it with the 'sport' button which of course you can not with sports suspension.

Needless to say, I speced AD and not sports suspension.

Roll on end of Jan !!

Sports suspenson is just stiffer shocks and perhaps springs .. and yes that's the last thing you need on an X5 .. but Adative drive that's a whole different thing... I would expect AD offers most value in cornering...
