TCU Replacement/Recall?

Along with my parasitic battery issues, I've noticed that my phone lights stays on all the time unless I connect my phone to it. It used to flash for a few seconds and disappear if I didn't connect. I've been reading that there was a recall on these TCU's....but sometimes the dealer wasn't aware of it. I guess there were letters that went out a year or two ago (maybe longer) about it.

Has anyone had recent experience in getting it swapped out at BMW's expense? Any validity to the recall?

Thanks

edit: placed this in the wrong forum. my X is a e53, sorry.

Yes there was a recall, letters were sent out and there is even an SIB on it. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find out more.
