Sirrius to XM satellite radio swap

I just bought a 2010 X5 35D with Sirrius radio factory installed. I prefer XM's programming and have it in my other 3 vehicles. I have seen some aftermarket XM kits that say they will integrate with my system with full functionality. My main concern is the antenna. Will I be able to use my factory shark fin antenna or will I have to use the magnetic one supplied with the XM module? Also will the XM module be mounted and all of the connection's take place in the left rear compartment of the cargo area?
Any input would be appreciated!
