RENEWED RESPECT FOR BMW!! UPDATE.. Keyless entry malfunction.
For all those interested in knowing how everything was finalized.. here it is!
I appreciate everyone's input and suggestions in the last thread about the flooding of my new 35d after all the windows and sunroof miraculously opened in a rain storm. I maintain it was a malfunction and an area BMW engineers need to counteract perhaps with interior H2O sensors that close all windows!
After I owned the car for 15 days the local dealer (Germain BMW of Naples.. which I recommend to all people in SW Florida and Columbus, OH to avoid all their dealerships like the plague) had my car for 34 days and were still unable to completely fix. BMWNA was also extremely disappointed with Germain as they never returned calls to corporate and when they finally did the customer rep said the service manager yelled at one of the execs. Needless to say they (BMWNA) said to me they were not surprised I bought my vehicles from a dealer 4 hours away and not from Germain!
BMWNA has agreed to replace the car for me at no cost although it will take a few months to manufacture. I am now driving the car that was flood damaged until the new car arrives. As I reported it continues to have many glitches with electronics ( the keyless entry can take 3-8 attempts to lock and 2-3 attempts to unlock, the idrive does not respond to all prompts and the phone kick out back to iphone repeatedly among other problems).
[B]DOES ANYONE FIRMLY KNOW IF THERE WILL BE A LCI OR MCF ON THE X5 IN MARCH? I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY CORPORATE AND THE DEALER ...NO... I TOLD THEM I WANTED THE X5 MANUFACTURED IN MARCH IF THER IS GOING TO BE A FACELIFT[B]
Thank you all for such a great forum
