Question What are your thoughts about this.......

Hi Everyone,

I'm a new member and this is my first post on xoutpost. After months of searching I finally placed an order for 2010 X5 35d with all the options all i wanted. Anyhow...I received this email from my sales guy who I bought my first BMW (2007 E93) from. Let’s just say it wasn’t a happy email from him. I responded professionally. Should I take this email up the chain of command at the dealership? Thoughts please. Read below.

Dear DaRip,

I am writing you this as I am so disturbed at how badly you have mistreated me in the recent few days that I woke up thinking about it at 03:15 hours this morning and got progressively so much more disturbed until now (04:17 Hours) thinking about it that I could not go back to sleep, so I had to wake up and write you this email.

The reason for why I am so furious is that as a friend and previous client of mine I treated you with the most respect and Provided you with a lot of my time ( My most valuable asset as a sales guy ) and effort to change your mind to a Diesel X5 from a 3.0i, test driving, choosing colors, packages, discuss options and gave you my undivided attention to accommodate you and XXX instead of selling you the X5 3.0i in stock in order to find the right BMW for your new family's needs, and to think on top of all that I gave you a $1,000 0ff MSRP on the Hottest car in the world for you to say to me that the only thing that matters is only price and you have another friend who is going to receive the fruit of my labor hearts so badly that I have decided to deal with this by writing you this long email with my super slow typing skills at 04:33 hours of the morning of today 01/06/2010.

Where is your loyalty and appreciation for the services I have provided to you guys over the years and the relationship we have? I have shown you my loyalty, haven't I?

My services and the type of car I am selling you are both deserving of every penny at MSRP if not more and it hearts me so bad that you are willing to treat me like a piece of trash and give the fruit of my efforts to someone else, THANK YOU !!!

After all repeat clients should be much easier because they trust you rather than take advantage of you and use you and think they are smart for it.

I am retrieving my offer of $1000 off the MSRP on the Diesel X5 order, I have called it a lost cause already, since you and XXX obviously do not appreciate my efforts. Otherwise order it else where and good luck with its Karma. Taking care of my customers is very personal, And you have heart me so deeply.

I can only wish the best for you and your family and hope that you will never have to go through this and taste the bitterness of it all.

This should not come as a surprise to you since you know how much I care and how passionate I am for what I do.

First of all I just want to say I appreciate the time that you have spent with us in researching our next car. I came to you not only as previous client but also a friend who has the same passion as you; a BMW Enthusiast. But you must understand that I am also a consumer and as a consumer should do his research and compare pricing. If money wasn’t an issue then yes I would buy all my cars from you. Unfortunately, I’m not a wealthy man and work hard in life to support my family and live a comfortable lifestyle. If you were in my position you would hopefully understand.

For the past two months I have been researching the X5 and getting price quotes from all over the state of California. Speaking to Internet Sales and Fleet Managers trying to see who will offer me the best price. I have networked with the BMW internet community and made many connections. I have seen what people have paid for their cars and was amazed at the deals that some of these people were getting! Yes, it’s all about the price.

I came to BMW of Mountain View to pick up my car from service but also view what you guys had on the lot and yes there was a car on the lot that sparked some interest. XXX and I were still deciding on the exterior and interior colors and wanted to see the color combo in person. When you saw us you were with a customer so I didn’t want to bother you but we waited for you. We never called to make an appointment with you, we just wanted to show up and look around by ourselves. When you became free then you came to us. Yes, you went over the options and colors, test drove the car, built the car online and then when it came down to the price you offered $1000 under MSRP with floor Mats. I listened to your reasoning stating that you were giving me a huge discount on the hottest car because I was a previous client. I didn’t want to say anything at the time but in my head while doing research, the other dealerships were offering the same price or even better. Plus if I asked you for more discount you would have probably told me to F off like you did to your other buyers who wanted to get the price down close to invoice. So we went home to think about it.

When I text you the following day about taking off another $1000 your answer was NO. What happen to the process of negotiating? If I was a friend and you really cared about your customer and wanted my business you could have easily negotiated pricing with me. I really wanted to buy the car from you but its hard when everyone that I have contacted beat your price by more than 2- 3K. I was confused as to how someone I trusted and believed was looking out for my best interest was trying to charge me more than strangers I’ve never dealt with before. Explain that to me. Why should I pay more for the car if everyone is quoting me lower prices?

I have nothing personal against you, it just saddens me that it had to end this way. I plan to buy many more BMW’s in the future. Maybe one day we can do business again but until then, best of luck to you.
