X6 or X5-M Front Bumper on X5

Has anyone attempted to put the X5-M or X6 front bumper on a e70?

I know this might require some modifications, so I wanted to see. I think I might attempt it sometime early spring. I did something similar when I had a e46 I put the M3 bumper, which wasn't too much work.

Aren't these too different? I though the fender and front end was a single piece on each side. So, you really can't remove the front facias as the cut line for X5M / X6 is diffferent from the E70 (not to mention the headlamps etc...)

To retrofit X5-M front bumper you will have to replace fenders, headlights, side moldings, and possibly hood. Standard E70 has really weird huge fenders which partially front bumper.

I didn't pull anything apart yet to see what needs to be relocated, but I've been just looking at the two next to each other. I think it will be a lot of work just to get the bumper mounted. I have an idea to cut my existing bumper to fit the side grills, but I don't know if it will work or not. I also think since my front bumper is all painted now it might throw the body lines off.

does anybody knows if the M bumper actually fit the M-sport X5 ? not that it would be worth doing the upgrade instead of just selling the car and getting an M but by curiosity ...

You would have to replace the fenders, hood, and headlights. The X5M and X6M both use X6 headlights, which are very different than X5 headlights. It's do-able, just really expensive.

if you have an LCI it can be done without changing lights or fenders. it has been done already.
