Why pay $245 when you can get the same (IMHO better) effect for almost 1/4 the price? I got them when they first came out at $120, could not be happier!

Hey guys, I have a 2008 X5 E70 and i am completely lost and confused. I have no idea about what lights i have on my car only that they are classic xenon and day lights are the classic rings. Last week i saw a 2012 X5 and i fell in love with the difference in the front lights and thought i must have the same.. So my trip started.. I started looking around and saw the above site..

I want to buy the Led bmw angel eyes from the link above but can someone explain to me what does the following mean.. because i don't want run into compatibility issues...

Please note:
For the High Power LED BMW Angel Eyes to fit, the BMW must have factory equipped HID Headlights
.

What is HID headlights and how do i know if i have it? is it something standard ? do i check with my dealer ? is there another way to find out if my can has HID ?

thanks,,,

Do it yourself. It's relatively straight forward. Lux even have installation instructions manual in PDF form for you to download from their website.

I have the Lux V3 installed, but just purchased the Alpine HID kit. Already have a buyer lined up for my Lux's, but I figured I'd take comparison photos for all to see. It'll probably happen sometime next week.

HID means High Intensity Discharge, otherwise nown as 'Xenon' lamps as they contain Xenon gas but are actually an arc/plasma lamp. If you have blue white lights which take a few seconds to warm up then you have HID Xenon lamps. Normal lamps use a Tungsten filament in an envelope with a recipe of various Halogen gases and have a yellow colour tint as per the Angel Eye lamp itself. You should also find a warning label of dangerous voltages as HID lamps run at up to 25,000V to start the arc up.

Looks great. Do you have a link and/or a photo of the unit you purchased?
