How to access the Service Menu for the Radio Module E70 / Navigation professional
does anyone know how to access the service mode menu for radio module bmw X5, E70 with navigation professional. I have bought a X5 U.S. version and the radio still thinks it is in the U.S. I can not select frequencies like 104.2, 104.4 and so on - thats needed for europe. I am looking for a guide on how to change the AREAD in the radio. All I have found is this, but it needs a SELECT knob - my E70 has none... Do you know a guide like this that is working with a 2008 X5? Procedure for accessing the Service Menu for the Radio Module on X5's equipped with Navigation 1. Turn on your car 2. If the radio is on, turn it off 3. Turn the radio on 4. Immediatly push and hold the SELECT button until the radio serial number shows (5 to 10 seconds) 5. Use the < > keys to cycle through the menu To set your radio to USA mode, se the < > keys to cycle through the menu until you see the AREA mode. The radio will likely be set to NOAREA. Use the 1 or 2 buttons to switch to different areas-- set it to US. * Turn the radio off to save the settings * Turn the radio back on and use it as normal. If any one has a instraction of how to do I would be grateful. Thank you! |

There are about four or five different methods in this thread:
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...reequency.html I would start with the pdf at the end of the thread.

That is a portion of the instructions from the PDF referenced above. If you read the full PDF, it gives you all the options once you are in the service menu, including how to change the region (which changes the radio frequencies)

Hello and thank you very much for this infos! Really appreciated!
I have tried this idrive magic before and and all could access was a OSD menu where I could not change anything. I will go to my car now and will try the MOST bus infos, right back in 10 minutes :-) MOST bus radio 1. The iDrive controller is used to access the service mode. 2. RDS on/off is accessed via this menu. 3. From the main menu display, press the controller down for minimum 6 seconds. 4. Turn the controller 3 increments clockwise (to the right). 5. Turn the controller 3 increments counter-clockwise (to the left). 6. Turn controller 1 increment clockwise (right). 7. Turn controller 1 increment counter-clockwise (left). 8. Turn controller 1 increment clockwise (right). 9. Push down on the controller. 10. To exit the service mode, select the return arrow at the bottom on the left of the screen. Again, thank you! |
