Driving a '10 3.0 Loaner for the Weekend

While the '08 is in service for the dark monitor to be fixed. They said they'll keep the truck until at least Monday.

Damn this thing is nice. It has the 19's and fender flares. And I'm really enjoying the new iDrive system. Butr it's not nice enough to upgrade from the '08 yet.

Fender flares on a dealer's 3.0? Interesting. How else aside from the idrive is it nice or did you just mean aesthetically? Is the backup camera a huge upgrade?

Also, keep us updated on the screen issue. Happened once more for me the other day.

It has the M Sport package.

I just like the iDrive interface a lot better than the old version. Also, the graphics are "snazzier"

They replaced the monitor.

Pics

Damn, it's really makingm me think of getting a '10 or better next year when the lease is up instead of keeping the current one. Decisions, decisions.

At the minimum, I'm going to add the fender flares and probably some staggered wheels.

Are you noticing the adaptive drive (if your vehicle doesn't have it)?

It was the biggest feature I had to have on my 35d. To me it was night and day.

The ease of use of the iDrive will wear off. Don't spend any more money. Just stick with what you have, for now and upgrade when you're lease is up.

Rumor has it there will be some minor changes to the 2011 models, anyway. Maybe a slight chin lift, etc.

I do like the Sport M package, with those wheels. It's my favorite combination.

I'm going to have my bumper pained in a similar manner and the fenders and rims replaced, etc. I know why you like the vehicle. It looks pretty neat!

have fun with it!

Mine already has it. I'm pretty sure it came with the sport package in '08. I always drive it in the Sport mode.

I haven't really done any tests with it in sport and not to see if there's a huge difference.

KWP1911.

I vote for upgrading when your lease is up. I wish I could. But I bought instead of leased.

Um, you may not have leased but you still could sell.

Your absolutely right. But the "buy, sell and upgrade" will cost me more than the "lease and upgrade", in the near future. As the car depreciates more, then it'll make more sense to sell and upgrade.

I think the general rule is that you have to own a car more than 8 years for it to be a better deal than a lease (given that mileage is not an issue. Then buying makes even more sense).
