You are a good samaritan. Most ppl would've drove off and not bothered.
And on the cell too... I would've reported her, endangering her child and other ppl on the road while on the cellphone. What happen to the kid's seat belt?
In Canada we banned the handheld cellphone while driving.

Here is an idea for "seeing you kid in the backseat at night".
This device has night vision. If you can not install it, I am sure any car audio/video shop could do it for a small fee.

Thank you. Having kids, I always worry what could happen. Riding a motorcycle has shown me that, for the most part, people don't pay a bit of attention in general, especially when holding their cell phones. Just last week some tool in a lifted Titan kept coming into my lane while I was honking the horn and everything. He finally heard the honking, got back over and kept going like nothing happened...PDA pasted on the side of his head, not even looking over when I gave him the finger. Cellphones and driving are a huge pet peeve of mine, especially when BT devices are so damn cheap. People (w/o getting on my soapbox about minivan/SUV driving mothers) need to pay more attention to the road while they're piloting 2+ tons of vehicle down the road - not their conversation, texting, or what's happening in the backseat.

I saw your reply Back to the garage where my 89, or 98 7 series...whichever it is, is on my lift and getting a 6spd installed.

We use a DVR based system at my shop and my buddies bar that uses a camera that looks very similar and work pretty good. They have LED lights around the perimeter and light things up quit nicely.

You have a 98 7 series with a new 325HP engine and new 6sp tranny.
Who are you planning to drag race?
That engine and tranny is not cheap, you could've bought a new 7series, in diesel too.
Great video of the BMW 740d
Than again if you are the one doing the labor, that's half the cost there...

I am not sure about the LED lights on the camera, it'll starle the child.

They don't have 740d's here, let alone just about an diesels. X35d is about the only BMW we can get in the US off the top of my head. I'm not drag racing anyone, it's just for the fun of it, and the 6spd is for the cool factor since BMW never made an iL manual...and Europe only got i's in the 6spd. Myself and/or one of my guys will do the labor, otherwise it's about a $10k job for anyone else.

The LED's are there to light anything up like adding brightness to the area, they are a red light that backfills the lens so it appears that the lights are on. It's hard to explain, but I know it works the same way the night vision setup works on the link you posted.
