Yes, I have had this problem twice. Both times it was a faulty sensor & required 2 days to repair (parts shipped in.)

This has been the only problem with my X5 (28 months, 30k miles) for which I am thankful!

Unfortunately, I do not think my dealer will cover this under warranty since I'm at 82K in mileage. Did your dealer tell you what the cost of something like might be?

I was talking with my dealer today after the problem "magically" went away after two start & stops, and he seemed to chuckle at the cost of replacement...which scared me as to the cost of repair.

Do you feel the ride is harsher and firmer?

Since the roads here are terrible, I cannot feel any difference. I was on the Belt Parkway yesterday, and the Van Wick this morning - it felt like I was on the moon dodging craters.

Yup! Will continue on through 200K (if I can keep my job!)

Even if I use a 3rd party BMW'r shop, I'll save $20 per hour, but still have an outrageous price on the parts.

Anyone had the brake mileage indicator go UP??

In the last few months, my brakes 'indicators' for both F/R were in the 38/39K range, now they are at 42K...

Dealer says the sensors might be malfunctioning, but even with the key reader at the dealership, the mileage on the key hasn't moved in months....

Computer problem??
