Question navigation-splirt screen-exitwindow issues

I have X5 3.0d E70, model from 2009.
the navigation system in the begining worked fine but i had issue a month ago with split screen.( working with 2009-1 dvd)
When i did the exit assist window , the navigation system would take up the full screen .

now i have only in the main screen which is about half the screen.
but the radio and the climate screen worked in full screen.
i complained to bmw and they did some upgrade..now it has gone worst ..forget the navigation screen even the radio screen works only in half screen.
upon enquiring they started to wonder if it ever worked in full screen in the first place.

so i need some proof for them that it worked...could any body out there..help me?..or anybody has a similar issue...any body got it solved

I'd take the approach that they were required to verify proper operation of the system PRIOR to doing the "upgrade". If they did not tell you it was broken prior to the upgrade they cannot claim that it was now broken.

Their lack of documenting the issue when they started the upgrade is, in fact, proof it was fine- they would never have done the upgrade.

Isn't it under warranty?

I'm not sure if I follow but I can assure you that the 2009 idrive system never used the entire screen size to display the map, nor the radio info.

What you can do however is display a map on the left, and a slightly smaller version of the same map on the right in the assist window.

That's it.

To avoid any confusion,my beamer is a model from 2009 and doesnt have the idrive with hardisk .It still uses the dvd option for navigation.

And from the day i received may 2009 untill 2010 jan..i could use the full screen and then it stopped.I have checked in other forums and people seem to have had it even before 2009...some one from 2007 had a similar issue. So, i suspect that the version used was earlier version when the car was shipped out in 2009.Regardless, that version was indeed the good one..after my complain..it was updated probably to latest and there is 30% blank screen when I do the exit -window.
absolutel waste of the screen... the 30% screen blank and doing nothing..... what kind of design is that????

I'd absolutely love 2010 nav in this case.
I use II half of split screen to display turn direction arrows and
it shows exit map when there is one and shows arrows rest of the time.
very convenient.
