Cabin Microfilters - Where Are They?

I'd like to see what condition they're in.

Changing the single microfilter was a snap in our E46 3 series, but it seems like the filters are behind armor plate in our E70.

What's the procedure for removing all that plastic cladding and getting to the microfilters?

Thanks

If I recall correctly they are under the passenger side cover at the firewall. The "bolts" are actually plastic and require a half turn to undo. You will also have to undo the centermost bolt for the driver's side cover to be able to pull the passenger side cover out. After that there is one more cover that uses the same "bolts". Remove those and the cover containing the filter(s) comes out.
